Bose biaxial press for thermo-hygro-mechanical characterization of bio-based material

Biobiax is dedicated to the thermo-hygro-mechanical characterization of bio-based materials (biopolymer thin films, (nano)-biocomposites, smart papers, natural woolen (or not) fibers matrix.

This platform consists of a Bose biaxial press, a moisture generator and cinematic fields measuring cameras.

It mainly aims to complete existing characterization devices. It allows to drive tests mimicking the complex multi-axial mechanical stresses states that are involved in the elaboration process as well as in the use of new materials.

This equipement project was conducted by 3SR and LGP2 research centers, and co-funded by PolyNat Carnot Institute (72 000€). The platform is fully operational since 2013.
